Celebration! 10 years IPv6 connected!

Party time!Party time! Today, exaclty today, this server is connected to the IPv6 network for 10 years!

It started in back in my college time. I was living on a student house with about 300 other students. We had a pretty fast and big connection for that time. And we had an all included contract, so no power bill :D. Multiple servers were running 24/7. So why not experiment with new techniques. One of them was IPv6.

SixXS LogoAt first it was rather difficult if you are not that familliar with network segmentation and ranges. So it was a bit of a struggle, but now it is all stable. And that for 10 years now. It all started at sixxs.net. They and others provide free IPv6 connections over your normal IPv4 connection. This can be done with a single desktop, and with a complete network. I did the last option, and have all my devices running IPv4 and IPv6 :D

And all other servers like my webserver, mailserver, torrent server, and even my Logitech Media Server is running on IPv6.

And as a new project, I started to hosting my server on the Invisible Internet Project (I2P) network. This is an anonymous network, so you can freely communicate with each other. If you want to mail me privatly, you can send it to: theyosh@mail.i2p or visit this site on http://theyosh.i2p (and yes, I2P does not use SSL)
